By His Blood, I Am Saved Brandy Langley Bartlett, TN The Lord saved my soul on June 29, 1992. It was during revival. I had been to the altar many times. Everyone always told me to turn it over to God. My problem was that even though I had been going to Landmark Church all my life, I wanted to be saved at Pleasant Grove, my Momma Rick's church just like my Mother was. We were planning to go to their revival and I had it all planned out. I knew only family at that church and I planned to go to the altar and ask the Lord to save me and that would be it. Well, something came up and we had to miss that revival. The morning of June 29th, 1992, I had made up my mind that I was not going to the altar that day. When we got to church, the Lord changed those thoughts real quick. I am not sure what the preacher was preaching about or for that matter who the preacher was. When it was time for the Altar Call, I did not go. They sang another song. My heart was pounding so hard, I knew I had to get out of there sometime soon. One of the ladies of the church, I don't recall who, came to me and asked me if I wanted to go to the altar. I don't know how I made it but halfway down the aisle, I felt as if someone was carrying me and I didn't have that heavy burden on my heart anymore. What a relief that was. The devil started dealing with me at the altar. I knew I had been saved but he convinced me not to get up and embarrass myself by telling everyone. A couple of months later, I told the church that I had been saved. I then proceeded to join the church and was baptized into the church. I am glad that I was at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church when I saved. I realize that it doesn't matter who or where you are, the Lord will save you. It's the greatest experience you could ever imagine. If you are lost, ask the Lord to put a heavy burden on your heart. Pray to Him and ask Him to save your soul. Let go of all worldly matters and He will save you. |
